You do not require a referral to attend an appointment with us. Many people decide to see a psychologist without consulting a GP or other health professional. However, if you wish to claim a rebate through Medicare, you will require a referral from your GP or Psychiatrist (please see below for further details about rebates).
The Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) recommended fee for a standard 50-minute session is $254. Our standard session fees are significantly less than this. Please contact us to discuss this further.
Please note: we are able to offer concessions to individuals who hold a Government pension or health care card. We can also offer reduced fees to those in financial hardship.
If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan, you may be eligible for a rebate from Medicare for up to $126.50 per session, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Rebates for Online Sessions
If you reside in a rural or remote region of Australia, you may be eligible for a rebate from Medicare for up to $126.50, for up to 10 sessions via Telehealth.
Please note: the Australian Government classifies rural and remote areas as those that are in the Modified Monash Model geographical regions 4-7. You may check if you fall into these areas by visiting the link below.
Private Health Insurance
You may be able to claim some of the fees back through your Private Health Fund.
At the conclusion of each session, you will be provided with an invoice that provides the details required for you to organise rebates with your insurance provider.
Please note: you are not able to claim from Medicare and your private health fund for the same consultation.
